Spring is here and it's time for the Portland Garden Club's Annual Geranium Sale.
Online ordering will open on April 1st at
https://portlandmigardenclub.org/geranium-sale
and run through April 30th.

Colors are red, white, light pink, dark pink and salmon and the cost will be $2.50 per plant.  There will be a limited quantity, so place your order early as these beautiful plants go quickly!

Curbside pickup at the Portland Red Mill will be on Thursday, May 9th from Noon to 6pm.  Stay in your vehicle and pay with cash or check. Your geraniums will be loaded in your vehicle by one of our volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering to assist with the sale or have any questions, please contact Cathy at (616) 284-1213.  Proceeds help us to beautify downtown Portland, have educational speakers at our meetings, and make monetary donations to local organizations.

Come hungry and join us for one of our favorite community traditions — VFW Fish Fry Night!

Enjoy a hearty, home-style meal featuring golden fried fish, crispy fries, coleslaw, rolls, and all the fixings. Plates are generous, the atmosphere is friendly, and it’s the perfect way to spend an evening with neighbors, friends, and family.

Proceeds go toward supporting our veterans and local community programs. Whether you dine in for the camaraderie or grab a plate to-go, every bite helps make a difference.

Come for the fish, stay for the fellowship!

This is the final in a series of presentations coming to Portland, all designed to help our community move toward a shared goal: a unified city, proud of its downtown, with a level of vibrancy that’s felt well beyond our core.  If you've missed the earlier ones, that's no reason to miss this - our most fun, and likely most important one!!

Please join us for this interactive workshop, hosted at City Hall in the Upstairs Community Room.

To Be Announced (April) — Team Rogers City comes to Positively Portland to share best practices that changed their fading downtown into a vibrant hub in every season.  Mayor Scott will energetically lead the way!

What you'll get:

  • Team Rogers City offers open communication with both community members and officials so everyone knows what is going on with organizations, schools, and other groups. It is an open group and anyone can (and many do) attend the meetings.
  • How to get more people working together, and people appreciating the work that’s being done.
  • How to build a great resource for businesses who invest and attend
  • Creating access to community involvement
  • Refreshments !!
Who should attend (besides you)?
Boards and commissions, City Council, City staff, business owners, property owners, and anyone who cares deeply about Portland and the future of its downtown.

Roll up your sleeves and join others who genuinely care about Portland and who are ready to find out if they can contribute to making us even better.
