Annual pitch competition, MIPitch, is back for it's fourth year to spark change and entrepreneurial growth in some of West Michigan's more rural communities. We're seeking some of the best, most innovative ideas that residents of Montcalm and Ionia Counties have for the MIPitch event taking place in September 19, 2024.
A panel of judges will evaluate submissions from Montcalm and Ionia County businesses seeking a chance to be selected as finalists for the live, in-person pitch event on September 19, 2024. Just in time for Sweetest Day, Friends of the Red Mill and the Portland Area Retailers would like to invite all to join us for the 5th Annual Portland Chocolate Walk, Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We have 30+ businesses participating this year and are including businesses in the Main Street area as well as participating businesses joining us on Grand River Avenue and throughout the city.
Tickets are $25 each and MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE. TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE while supplies last.
Check in will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Red Mill Pavilion, located at 450 Water Street. Upon check in you will receive your container to collect all your candy in, along with a list of participating businesses. When done, a variety of decadent hand-pattied and hand-dipped chocolates will fill your container. We have received rave reviews regarding the chocolate that will be handed out. Each chocolate comes individually wrapped and is made in a licensed commercial kitchen.
