Joint Communication from the District and SPTA: Negotiations Update- February 23, 2026
Hello Everyone,
The District and the Sierra Plumas Teachers' Association (SPTA) held another productive negotiations session on Monday, February 23. We were able to reach tentative agreements on all articles except Article 4 and Article 15, which require further discussion by the District.
Article 4: Class Size
4.4 – We are still actively negotiating compensation for teachers when class sizes exceed the agreed-upon maximums.
4.11 – We are also continuing discussions regarding compensation for elementary teacher ISP contracts.
Article 15: Input in Selecting New Programs for Schools
15.1, 15.2, 15.3 – We are still negotiating language related to how curriculum and instruction are defined within the article.
The session was positive and productive, and both teams are hopeful we can wrap things up soon. We will send a final update once everything is finalized to keep staff and the community informed.
