The Matsiko World Orphan Choir will be performing at First Presbyterian Church Thursday May 22nd at 6:30 PM. A little bit about them.
The Matsiko World Orphan Choir, is on its 11th USA tour and is the 1st organization to travel with orphaned and vulnerable children from any country in South America and Liberia, West Africa! Matsiko has performed in many churches, festivals, and special community events across The United States as well as Google & Microsoft’s World Conferences, Dallas Cowboy Stadium, the Rose Bowl, and other NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, stadiums around the USA. They have even been invited to the White house under 3 administrations!
Disneyland called Matsiko “Our World’s Treasure” and they have been labeled, “The greatest Ambassadors for our world 600 million orphaned and at-risk children” by former US Congressman David Reichert. However, with all this said, it is our greatest experience sharing with our local churches throughout the USA that firmly plant in our hearts the memories and lessons of a lifetime the children of Matsiko cherish most of all.
The Choir’s mission was and still is to empower as many of our world’s 600 million orphaned & vulnerable children, like themselves, with the knowledge of Christ and a complete education in their own countries so they can become doctors, lawyers, Mechanics, engineers, and every other wonderful kind of professions. This not only breaks the generational poverty of their family heritage, it also empowers the children to become whatever they want to become, provide a wonderful testimony of overcoming in Christ, and letting each child become a part of their nation's solution instead of being considered a problem! Therefore, the world's 600 milllion forgotten children are the mission field of Matsiko.
