Our highly esteemed and well-regarded Executive Director (Yrs Truly) recently switched to Duran Central Pharmacy where a) they take the same insurance and charge the same co-pay b) they take a little more time with the customer, c) they make more effort to provide info and answer questions than the Big-box competitor and d) they have Yerbas and Heirloom Vegetable Seeds and Red and Green Chile and soooo much more!
Why are we doing this, day in, day out? Does it matter?
The short answer is "Hizzle McYizzle It Matters!"
The slightly longer answer is that according to the research, for the last three years Indie Biz in communities WITH a "Buy Local" group like, say KeepItQuerque, have grown at two to three times more than Indie Biz in communities without a KeepItQuerque.
