Have Yourself a Super Swell Solstice Celebration!

Oh What Fun It Was To Join At Slate Street!

If you were at Slate Street for the KeepItQuerque Convivial Carousel you probably had a good time!

Thanks to all who came and shared in the fun, the libations, the prizes and, most of all, each others' company!

We had a great time reconnecting with some faces we hadn't seen in awhile and trading hugs with the folks we always LOVE to see.

(Embarrasing Pictures Here!)

The New 2015 Directory is Coming!

Last year your business (if you were amember in good standing prior to March) was included in the KeepItQWuerque Directory that was delivered to over 100,000 homes.

In this day of Social Media and the Internet Printed communications are often disregarded. The real point of the printed directory is to make as many of our neighbors as possible aware of our branding, to look for it as a"bona fides" for loca businesses, educate people about why the "Buy Local" initiative is so crucial, that KeepItQuerque is the source to go to if you want a verified Local business, and to make them aware of our online and mobile directory.

Do you have KeepItQuerque on your Smart phone yet?
Scan this to get it on your Android...

or scan this to get on your Apple...

Your KeepItQuerque Board is planning to Crowdfund the 2015 Directory and distribute it directly to folks at home.  You can take a look at last year's project here.

If you'd like to be one of our Sustaining Members, PLEASE let us know!

And by all means make sure your dues are paid! We'll be sending out invoices via e-mail, along with plenty of reminders.

What's coming up...

Rail Yards Holiday Market a Great Collaboration!

Clifton Chadwick

The Rail Yards Market, the Downtown Growers Market, nearly 100 vendors, and the ABQ CashMob and KeepItQuerque were on hand with THOUSANDS of Christmas Shoppers all Buying Local last Sunday!

The sun was shining down on a "sugar-coated Watermelon," the line at the Coffee Vendor was long all day, everyone was at least a "bit chilly," and "all warm" at the same time!

The KeepItQuerque table was fortuitously near the bandstand and, for the first time this season, amidst all these smilling, scarved and mittened bodies looking at beautiful handcrafted gifts, I enjoyed the carols, even joining in from time to time.

If you were there post some of your pictures to our Facebook page with a clever caption!

Here are some of the pictures I took...

I Like To Ride My Bicycle

Clifton Chadwick

You may be aware of the many sources fo research that demonstrate the increased success of local business when a community increases it's "Walkability," which includes "Bikeability."
Jeff Speck is in the midst of putting a plan together for Downtown Albuquerque.
Dan Burden was instrumental in helping Albuquerque's "newest established neighborhood" create the Mile-Hi District which will soon have a completely new character that will favor the residents and the businesses in the area.
At the Rail Yards Market the folks from BikeABQ provide "Bike Valet," a great service that allows folks to cycle up and leave their bike while they walk inside the Market.  As an avid cyclist since the late '70s I know how bicycling can teach us about our communities in a way cars can't.  I know how intimidating many of our streets and roads are and how dangerous that makes them for bicyclists, pedestrians and motorists alike. So when
Dan Fleetwood, the BikeABQ Velo Views Newsletter Editor asked me to include a survey in our newsletter it seemed like a good idea.

Here ya go...
