KeepItQuerque's Main Street Crowd Partner to "Debut" in Santa Fe!

Many of us know that the KeepItQuerque - buy local! directory was one of the first projects of Main Street Crowd.

Our friends at Main Street Crowd have not been idle since and according to Santa Fe HomeTown News, "In Person Crowdfunding" will debut in the Southwest at the Gerald Peters Galler next week!

These projects are local to New Mexico originating in Roswell, Santa Fe and even an Landmark Scavenger Hunt in Albuquerque!

You can see all the project at https://mainstreetcrowd.com/keepitquerque-buy-local/ or as part of MIXstarter online at https://mainstreetcrowd.com/mixstarter/.

Take a look and see if you want to contribute - or if you've got an idea you could raise some funds for using some of these emchanisms!

But How?

Registration Easier For Gary Oppedahl at September Luncheon!

Our September Luncheon at the Hotel Albuquerque featuring Albuquerque's Economic Development Director Gary Oppedahl is already filling up!

Nearly a dozen people have taken advantage of the "Pre-Early Bird" registration price - in spite of having to send in a check!

Mr. Oppedahl will address growing our economy through a strong local small business community.

Some of you commented how "quaint" mailing in a check was, so we've made registration more convenient for you; now you can pay online with your credit or debit card or you can pay at the door when you arrive - or you can still enjoy our "quaint" pay by mail option!

And now through August 15th you can still save $7.50 per person with "EarlyBird Prices."

As Members you are also allowed to register your non-member guests at member prices!

If you're not a member yet contact your member colleagues and get them to help you take advantage of member savings to this Luncheon with Gary at the Hotel Albuquerque!

Where Do YOU Want KeepItQuerque To Go? Board of Directors Nominations Coming Soon!

Clifton Chadwick

Your Independent Business Alliance is a 501c-6 organization.

That means we're non-profit and Member Supported.

This year we've had great participation by our Board of Directors, by member businesses who've participated in our Civic Economics Study, by members who've joined us on the radio and TV to talk about why "buy local" is important to our community, and by member businesses who've worked within our limited budgets to produce our events.

Some of our most critical participation has been from new members who joined via our Main Street Crowd Directory project, helping us get our brand, our mission and our membership into over 100,000 homes! Vera Neel, Wendy Forbes,Vincent Crewe and John Snyder all became new members during the Directory project.  Board Member Erica Shelton extended her membership during the drive as I, Clifton Chadwick, did. Board member Debby Kruzic extended her membership - and kicked in a little extra!  Member and Past President Duane Trythall kicked in a little as did non-members Aliaksei Kuliashevich, Bob Tilley and Marshall Neel, all regular local citizens who recognize how important our mission is to the area economy.

Ron Shettlesworth, Ron Brown, Todd Sandoval, Steve Garcia and Ron Pattison all contributed as "Sustaining Members," carrying the weight of the project and getting your name and the KeepItquerque Message into over 100,000 upscale homes!

Our newest Partner La Montanita Coop came into the project in tiime to help us continue reaching out to their membership every month!

With your help KeepItQuerque has made some great strides.  We've become a source for journailsts on questions about the impact on our community of  purchase decisions, of employment impact and other questions about the "multiplier effect" of local spending.  We've been invited to participate in discussions about policy, and have even been asked to allow candidates for office to address our membership!

As the song asks "Where do we go from here?"  What kinds of initiatives are important to you?  What do you want more of? Less of?

In just a few weeks we'll put out the nominations for next year's open Board of Direcotors Positions and we hope you'll nominate people who are Passionate Lovers of Albuquerque and Local.

If you know of someone who's expressed an interest in helping KeepItQuerque grow or has ideas about how KeepItQuerque can better serve the membership or the community - or both! - please nominat that person to the board - especially if it's YOU!
